Description: 16oz weight wool hand crafted Tartan, forms the entire length of this beautiful individual and unique gun slip, which is trimmed with 3mm bridal leather, shoulder strap features a pad for added comfort and the trigger guard has a retractable handle. The slip is lined with simulated sheepskin. A full-length zip for ease and a buckled flap for extra added protection complete the classic look of this stunning gun slip.
The block end is encased in 3mm leather, plug is over 25mm in thickness to ensure maximum protection for the barrel end, & features a leather Hanging loop. The Tartan used on this bag is one which was specially adapted from an original Macintyre of Glen Orchy Tartan using colours specially selected by Macintyre & Thomson, from a modern pallet.

(Modern Palette: Tartans woven in modern colours are characterized by darker and more vivid shades, the advent of chemical dyes in the mid-1800s introduced the possibility of stronger and more brighter shades and were popular with the Victorians, because of their liking for strong and vibrant colours.)

Ancient Pallet: In the 1950s weavers began to create lighter toned variants once the novelty of strongly toned modern dyestuffs were stating to ebb. The lighter tones often make a Tartans sett (pattern) easier to distinguish. Brown – (muted tones) Reproduction Palette with a Dark Brown Leather Trim.
(Reproduction Pallet: Authentic in colour and design to those Tartans worn in 1745 and before. They have a soft muted effect as in those earlier times when vegetable sources provided the dyers raw materials such as lichen, moss, and alder bark.)
